How Marianne Williamson Earned A Black Card From African Americans At Tuesday’s Democratic Debate

By most accounts it was an exceedingly brainy political debate that pitted progressive liberals against status quo moderates over the future of the democratic party.
Discussed with wonkish flair were complicated matters such as “single-payer health care” versus what constitutes “health care for all.” Disputed were weighty policy concerns that called for prudence over immigration laws and gun control. One candidate — possessing much lucidity — argued for constitutional amendments as viable vehicles for government “structural reform.”
Then came along Marianne Williamson — talking about race.
Considered a long-shot candidate who has no political experience, Williamson, 67, was as clear-eyed and composed as any about the systemic racism that persist in our country. Williamson is deemed a New Age Spiritualist. Her new book is titled The Politics of Love.
Her salvo on race came early in the debate, launched as a hot projectile onto the laps of the her nine competitors on the dais Tuesday night in Detroit at the Fox Theater:
